The game.cer file still may show up in the certificates folder in EasyAntiCheat folder with a warning, but don't worry, if you install those updated certificates from Globalsign then EAC should now install and Watch Dogs 2 should start normally. If that doesn't work you have to uninstall and reinstall the entire game to get it to work and Uninstall EAC, restart windows, reinstall EAC and then do a Verify File Integrity so this time it downloads and validates the EasyAntiCheat_圆4.dll into the Watch Dogs 2\bin folder, and also properly validates your ownership. Keep trying the Verify File Integrity check and make sure you have quit Uplay when you do it. For some reason sometimes EasyAntiCheat_圆4.dll is failing to be placed in the games bin folder during installation. It should place the missing Watch Dogs 2 EasyAntiCheat_圆4.dll in the bin folder now and the game should launch properly. Now go to Watch Dogs 2 in Steam Library, right click and select Properties, then Verify Integrity of Game Files. Restart Windows and run EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe again and choose Watch Dogs 2 and select Install. Uninstall EasyAntiCheat by running EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe, choose Watch Dogs 2 then select Unistalll to the left above Repair.
However when a Root certificate gets updated, it can cause a few hickups.īrowse to Watch Dogs 2 folder and look in EasyAntiCheat folder. A bunch of certificates expired 2016, so many games and programs will be updating their certificates at some point, if they didn't already do it last year. Game publishers certificates will go in Trusted Publishers usually by default, but normally this usually all happens automatically and unseen. (The V3 Root certificate goes in Trusted Root Certification Authority, and the other certificate should go in the Intermediate section if you are interested, but the certificates should automatically be installed in their correct locations). This should now allow the Watch Dogs 2 certificate included with EAC to validate.
Download them both from the ROOT certificate link and also SSL Extended link on Globalsigns page and install them by double clicking and installing them. There is a link in this section to Globalsigns new V3 ROOT certificate and GlobalSign SSL Extended Validation CodeSigning CA - SHA256 - G2 certificate. Look in Uplay in Watch Dogs 2 game details for Help and go to Ubisoft Help page, slect watch Dog 2 in the FAQ, and then look for the bit named Watch Dogs 2 Connectivity issues on PC.
